Research and Development
'What we have to do is to be forever curiously testing
new opinions and courting new impressions'.
Walter Pater
Value Solutions is constantly striving to improve the services it is offering to customers. Current areas of research and development include Programme Management
and innovating in Value Management training and
education. We have strong links with the University of Leeds where Marcus Grönqvist is a visiting lecturer having previously worked at
the university as a Research and Development Consultant on projects such as:
- 'The Value Management Benchmark' - international
benchmarking of VM.
- 'Supply Chain Management for Refurbishment: Lessons
from High Street Retailing' -
identifying, developing, testing and managing opportunities for change in terms
of retail refurbishment programmes.
- 'Reasonable Access' - developing good practice
for providing reasonable access to the physical built environment for the disabled.
Programme Management
We are currently involved with the University of Leeds and the Office of Government
Commerce (OGC) investigating the skills and competences that are required to manage
programmes of construction projects effectively.
Training and Education
Value Solutions are already offering the first Value Management eLearning course in the UK. We are currently building upon and improving that
course to make VM more accessible and affordable to students from all across the
world. Marcus is co-ordinating the IVM SIG 'Innovating in Training and Certification'
which is currently investigating ways in which to improve VM training and certification.
We are also investigating methods to enable mature and experienced
VM professionals acquire qualifications through research based and experiential
learning without attending physical courses.
